Our founding team started as classroom teachers because we believed that student success should always be determined by the student, not by poor instruction.
Co-founders Sean Hookano-Briel and Daniel Nash meet as High School teachers in Hawai’i and teamed up to create a solution for their underperforming students by aligning their instruction and students to the key connections. The result, an increase in pass rates from 12% to 71%.
Through the support of Hawai’i State Teachers Association, Comprendio created professional development for schools in the Hawaiian Islands, California, and schools in Asia. While supporting 500+ teachers with implementaion, the need to develop Comprendio's technology becomes evident.
Piloting of technology along side methodology begins with classrooms in Hawai’i and California with the support of funding from The Learning Coalition, The Emerson Collective, and XLR8UH.
Our journey started in 2006 with a commitment to always keep the learner's needs at the heart of everything.
That core value still guides us today.
Based on feedback from education and enterprise pilots along side Intel Education and Village Capital's guidance, Comprendio focuses their methodology and technology on aligning human understanding.
